Craft | Easter Bunny Surprise

  easter craft

Easter is this Sunday and it will be Miguel’s first. We have him 2 books, we will do a themed breakfast and then we will show him the fun game we made. I am so excited for him to see it. It was so easy to make and I had everything in my home.

All you need:

a box (I used a diaper box)
construction paper
tissue paper
tape
scissors
pencil
knife
Easter eggs or ball pit balls

I covered the outside of the box in tissue paper. I wrapped it about 3-4 times. Then I used a pencil to cut where I wanted the bunnies mouth to be.

I put tissue paper on the inside and taped it down. If you do this before you start the craft it will be easier- learn from my mistakes. Then I drew the eyes and nose and at this point this thing was looking pretty creepy.

The rosy cheeks only made it worse. I just cut red circles out of construction paper.

Then the ears. I used the long folds of the box. I cut them off, traced how round I wanted the top of the ears, shaped them and wrapped them in tissue paper. I tapped the bottom of the ears -this helps with the last step.

I added pink construction paper to the ears.

Okay, this part was a little tricky simply because I did not plan any of this out before I started. I had to figure out how I was going to get these ears to stand up on our bunny, so she was less scary. I used a sharpie to measure the width of the ears and how long I would need the incision. I cut a straight line, I was using a knife so it was not a wide slot, so I had to wedge the ear into the slot. This is why I tapped the bottom of the ears. I thought I was going to have to make it bigger, but it worked! The ear stood up perfectly. However, on the other ear it was a little floppy, so I used tape to hold it in place.

I really love how she turned out! We decided against Easter eggs this year because everything goes to Miguel's mouth. So we are using the ball pit balls. This will be our sensory activity on Sunday and I cannot wait to see how he does!

This craft cost $0 in total.
This craft took 30 minutes to prepare.
This craft lasted TBD.
This craft hopefully will not require a bath afterwards.

I would love to see yours, if you try making one! Be sure to share your photos in the comments or tag me on Instagram @calliegerardo
